Savannah Guthrie made an on-air plea about her missing mother Nancy Guthrie.
If you don’t know, Savannah‘s mom went missing earlier this year, and she was presumed taken from her home in the middle of the night after scary surveillance images emerged.
“This morning NBC News is reporting new information about one of the notes sent to multiple media outlets,” Craig Melvin commented.
NBC News is reporting that a note that was apparently sent had said Nancy had passed away.
Craig told Savannah, “The bravery and courage with which you have done this job every day since that happened, nothing short of remarkable.”
Savannah responded, “I love you guys, and I love this place. This is unusual and unprecedented — to say the least — to be sitting here.”
“But I can’t pretend I’m not here. And so since I am, I wanted to just take the opportunity to ask people, really to beg people, to come forward. Somebody knows something,” she continued. “This is a new story that today is on your radar, but this is the life that my sister lives, that I live, that my brother lives, that our extended families live, that our children live every day. And we are in agony and we cannot be at peace.” If you are not aware, Savannah has a sister and a brother named Annie and Camron.
“So no matter how much I try to come out here every day and to smile and find that joy — and I will, I promise I will — this is a moment to tell you that we need your help. We’re begging for your help. And I’m not gonna miss that opportunity,” she added.
The Today show posted the clip of this moment with the caption, “Savannah’s mom, Nancy Guthrie, disappeared overnight on Jan. 31. The Guthrie family is offering a $1 million reward for the return of Nancy. The FBI is also offering a $100,000 reward and encouraging anyone with information to call 1-800-CALL-FBI.”
Another update about the ransom note came in this week, and TMZ actually made a claim about the FBI.
