SPOILER ALERT – Do not read ahead if you haven’t watched the final episode of The Bear!
The Bear is honoring late guest star Rob Reiner.
Before his death in December 2025, the late director appeared in three episode of season four of the Emmy-winning series as restaurant consultant Albert Schnurr, who worked with line cook Ebra (Edwin Lee Gibson).
In the series finale, which was released on Thursday (June 25), viewers caught a line dedicated to Rob.
During the finale, titled “The Original Beef of Chicagoland,” Ebra calls Albert for assistance about expanding the restaurant into a franchise.

“Albert, we are in business,” Ebra says to Albert during their phone call.
“It’s perfect. I will have all the documents, email it to you immediately,” he continued. “Anything else I can do?”
After Albert replies, which viewers do not hear, Ebra says, “As you wish.”
This is seemingly a reference to Rob‘s classic movie The Princess Bride. In the 1987 comedy, Westley (Cary Elwes) famously expressed his devotion to Princess Buttercup (Robin Wright) by telling her several times, “As you wish.”
If you didn’t know, Rob and wife Michele died in December with their son Nick charged in their deaths. Nick has plead not guilty in his parents’ deaths. Their death certificate revealed tragic details of what allegedly happened.
