Zaire Wade has been charged with a felony three weeks after his arrest.
Back on June 21, the 24-year-old son of Dwyane Wade was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence.
According to a felony criminal complaint obtained by People on July 9, Zaire was charged with felony injuring a cohabitant, fiancé, boyfriend, girlfriend or child’s parent. In the complaint filed by Los Angeles District Attorney Nathan J. Hochman, it was alleged that Zaire “willfully inflicted corporal injury resulting in a traumatic condition” upon the victim, whose identity has not been made public.
The complaint also states that Zaire was in a romantic relationship with the alleged victim.
Last month, police were called to a home in Burbank, Calif. at about 5:30 am after receiving a call about a woman screaming. When they arrived, they found Zaire and a woman, who had “lacerations on her face and body.”
Zaire was arrested and booked in Los Angeles where his bond was set at $50,000. He bonded out of jail that same day and an emergency protective order for the victim was obtained. At the time, he was charged with domestic violence, criminal threats, and false imprisonment.
Dwyane shares Zaire and 19-year-old daughter Zaya with ex-wife Siohvaughn Funches. He also shares son Xavier, 12, with Aja Metoyer and daughter Kaavia, 7, with wife Gabrielle Union. In 2011, Dwyane was awarded full custody of his now-24-year-old nephew Dahveon Morris.
The former NBA star has not yet publicly addressed his son’s arrest.
Zaire‘s arraignment is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. on July 16, in Pasadena, Calif.
