Kim Min-ho and Kim Dong-joon return in New Recruit 4

ENA’s military black comedy New Recruit is back with a fourth season, and fans of the long-running series will be happy to note that a ton of familiar faces have returned. With a couple of new characters also joining the lineup, who will be the enemy this time around for our protagonists, and how will things fare for the newly promoted corporal?
Starting from season one all the way to four, Kim Min-ho (Queen Mantis) plays series lead Park Min-seok once again. After being promoted to corporal, Min-seok hopes that things will finally settle down, but life seems to have other plans. A mysterious recruit joins their ranks, ushering in another turbulent chapter for the corporal.
Reprising his role as Jeon Se-gye is Kim Dong-joon (Siren’s Kiss). After the last season, the beloved actor has adjusted to military life and gone from “superstar” to “military-star.” In addition, season three’s Oh Dae-hwan (Filing for Love) is back as Company Commander Jo Baek-ho, who leads the second company with love. He’s dubbed the “human vitamin,” i.e. a person who can infuse any situation with energy and boost others’ moods.
Lee Hyun-kyun (The Apartment Job) joins the cast as the new Lieutenant Colonel Byun Hyuk-jin. As the battalion commander, he devotes his energy to advancing military life for those under his command, and along with his passion, comes a whirlwind of changes for their barracks culture.
Adding an element of mystery to the story is Lee Won-jung (Doctor on Edge) as new recruit Kim Hyun-wook. He becomes the ace as soon as he joins the squad, but no one can quite get a read on the young soldier. Returning to the series are Nam Tae-woo (Law and the City) as Staff Sergeant Choi Il-gu, and Kim Yo-han (A Killer Paradox) as Moon Bit-na-ri who is finally excited to have someone ranked lower than him.
Directed by PD Min Jin-ki (Salon de Holmes, New Recruit 3) and PD Jo Jae-wook with scripts by Yoon Ki-young (New Recruit 3) and Kim Dan, ENA’s New Recruit 4 is slated for twelve episodes and premieres August 24 in the Monday-Tuesday slot.
