Zach Braff is hinting at what is in the works for the Scrub reboot’s upcoming second season.

The 51-year-old actor reprised his role as Dr John “JD” Dorian for the ABC comedy’s return, alongside a handful of stars from the original series. He’s also an executive producer on the show.

During a recent appearance at the 2026 Tribeca Film Festival, Zach teased more OG stars may be coming back!

Scrubs season two is gonna be even better than the first,” he told People. “I feel like we all learned so much in doing season 1. So we learned what the audience really liked.”

“We learned the tone and a lot of more guest stars will be back for the fans. I’ll tease that. Or we’re booking a lot of their fan favorites as we speak,” Zach added.

In the series revival, “J.D. and Turk scrub in together for the first time in a long time: Medicine has changed; interns have changed; but their bromance has stood the test of time. Characters new and old navigate the waters of Sacred Heart with laughter, heart and some surprises along the way.”

Also reprising their roles in season one included Donald Faison as Christopher Turk and Sarah Chalke as Elliot Reid, as well as Judy Reyes as Carla and John C. McGinley as Dr. Perry Cox, reprising their roles in guest star capacities.

Scrubs is just one of several ABC shows that received renewals this year.
