The upcoming Call of Duty movie from director Peter Berg got a new update over the weekend!
The 62-year-old filmmaker took to the stage during Fanatics Fest on Saturday (July 18) in New York City, and shared a tidbit about the forthcoming movie.
Peter revealed during the “Call of Duty in Culture Panel” that the movie will be set in the “Modern Warfare” universe!
He will direct the film from a script he is co-writing with Taylor Sheridan. The movie currently has a scheduled release date of June 30, 2028. Additional details, including casting, are not available at this time.

Per a previous release, the upcoming movie is “designed to thrill its massive global fan base by delivering on the hallmarks of what fans love about the iconic series, while boldly expanding the franchise to entirely new audiences.”
This news comes months ahead of the release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, which will come out on October 23rd.
Since Call of Duty first launched in 2006, the video game franchise has “topped more than 1 billion players and generated over $35 billion in revenue.”
