Beauty influencer Mikayla Nogueira had a terrifying health scare resulting in her being rushed to the hospital.
The 28-year-old TikTok star shared a clip on Friday (June 12) showing her dressed in a hospital gown and walking around the hospital with an IV.
“Pov: you passed out from severe pain while filming a makeup Tik Tok, called 911, rushed to the hospital in an ambulance, and now you’re getting emergency appendix removal surgery,” she wrote in the text overlay, then in the caption, Mikayla added: “So I just had my appendix removed.”
Hours later, after returning from the hospital, she shared an update video for her concerned fans and followers.
“Not how I want to spend my birthday,” Mikayla started the video, filming as she was laying down with her hair wrapped in a towel.
She goes on to say she was flying home to Massachusetts from Los Angeles when she started experiencing “discomfort and pain,” and tried to “sleep it off” before waking up later with increasingly severe pain.
Thinking it was a stomachache, Mikayla tried to push through and film a makeup video.
“I was doing a makeup video, and while I was filming the room began to spin and I couldn’t breathe and I fell on the floor and I just passed out,” she recounted.
Upon waking up, she immediately called 911 and was rushed to the hospital in an ambulance as doctors did a CT scan and discovered that her appendix was on the verge of a “rupture.”
“So they put me into immediate emergency surgery and I no longer have an appendix,” she continued.
“I have three incisions on my stomach and I can’t really walk,” she continued.
Mikayla said her boyfriend Zach is taking care of her at the moment, “which is really sweet of him.”
“Yeah, it’s going to be an interesting few days and I just wanted you to know what happened, and I love you, and I will be here, in my bed,” she concluded.
