Promotions have begun for U+ Mobile TV’s newest fantasy romance Love in Sync (previously Sympathy Cells) with a video from their first script reading, a poster, and stills. The upcoming drama features L, a.k.a. Kim Myung-soo, (Perfect Family) and Kang Min-ah (Gaus Electronics) in an opposites-attract romance where they share emotions and learn to understand each other along the way.
Cha Eun-hwan (L) is a famous psychologist with a distinct method of counseling and the ability to empathize a little too well with others. Cold and calculating, Eun-hwan keeps things strictly professional in his day-to-day life, but deep inside, he has his own well of trauma and surprising warmth.
In contrast, Yoo Ji-ahn (Kang Min-ah) is a former idol turned actor who lacks empathy. Though her self-esteem is through the roof (“No matter where I look, I’m perfectly beautiful,” she says to herself), her inability to relate to others causes a hindrance at work. She receives a critique that her acting feels soulless, but instead of reflecting on her performance, she stands her ground and asks why she has to feel sorry for other people’s incompetence.
Despite her callous speech and direct approach, Ji-ahn knows how to take care of those around her and is passionate about acting. Thus, when she hears about a counselor with a track record of helping actors improve their craft, she sets aside her misgivings and looks for help. However, when the two meet, something strange occurs: she starts to hear his inner thoughts.
As for the rest of the cast, Kwon So-hyun (My Perfect Stranger) plays Ji-ahn’s nemesis and idol-turned-actor Han Yi-jin, Cha Min-ji (Queen’s House) is Eun-hwan’s older sister Cha Song-hwan, and Shin Woo-gyeom (Last Summer) is Eun-hwan’s close hyung Dong-kyung. Directed by PD Kim Chil-bong (Numbers) with scripts written by Jung Yeon and Kim Sung-rae, Love in Sync premieres July 4 in the Saturday-Sunday slot.
