How to Eat Fried Worms actor Blake Garrett passed away at the age of 33 back in February 2026 and now his cause of death has been confirmed.
Best known for playing Plug in the 2006 family movie How to Eat Fried Worms, Blake‘s only other professional credit was an appearance in a Barney movie in 2004.
Blake died on February 8 and his mother previously said that she believed his death to be a “tragic accident.” A week before his death, Blake was admitted to the emergency room and was diagnosed with shingles. His mom believes he “may have self-medicated to cope with the pain from the viral infection, and she believes his death could have been a tragic accident.”
TMZ reported on July 13 that Blake died from “acute fentanyl toxicity” and his death was ruled an accident.
Blake died at the sober living house in Oklahoma, where he moved to three years ago as part of his sobriety journey.
