Junho, Hong Hwa-yeon

1. The Korean Foreign Embassy has confirmed that a water-harnessing dragon Junho (Cashero) will be taking office, though ‟foreign” in this case isn’t simply non-Korean as this secret branch deals with supernatural beings. And the human Hong Hwa-yeon (Filing for Love) is somehow transferred here by mistake. Expected to broadcast on tvN, the fantasy rom-com has PD Bae Hyun-jin (Hierarchy, Alchemy of Souls 2) directing with scripts by Shin Ha-eun (Love Next Door, Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha). 2. Disney+’s Code has announced production, lining up attorney Nam Joo-hyuk (The East Palace), prosecutor Lee Yi-dam (The Art of Sarah), hacker Kim Eui-sung (Cashero), and police detective Park Hoon (Bloodhounds 2) to headline the mystery-thriller. Adapted from the 2016 Taiwanese series that was also made in to a Japanese series in 2023, the Korean remake is slated to release sometime in 2027 with PD Yoo Soo-min (Weak Hero Class 1, 2) at the helm. 3. Speaking of Nam Joo-hyuk, the actor is reportedly considering a new romance called Heartbeat (working title) for his next, next project, which is said to have Han So-hee (Gyeongseong Creature 2) in talks as well. Production for the series is currently in the early stages with writer Lee Shi-eun (Lovely Runner, True Beauty) attached to pen the scripts. 4. On SBS, the Flex x Cop 2 team is in the thick of investigations in the newest poster, with Ahn Bo-hyun (Spring Fever) and Jung Eun-chae (Honour) leading Season 2. And I spy with my little eye a photo of Yoo Seung-ho (Deal) on the crime board behind them. Directed by PD Kim Jae-hong (Revenant) with writing by Kim Ba-da (My Name), the upcoming second season follows Agent Kim Reactivated on weekends starting August 7. [SBS]

5. MBC’s A Bona Fide Killer continues promos with a new video teaser, calling Gong Hyo-jin (When the Stars Gossip) back to corporate work after maternity leave. Except her ‟sales” team is merely a guise for their vigilante work. Also starring Jung Joon-won (Resident Playbook), Lee Sang-yi (The Legend of Kitchen Soldier), Sung Dong-il (We Are All Trying Here), and Kim Nam-hee (Moon River), the action-comedy and webtoon-adaptation will be launching on July 31 next week. 6. tvN is ramping up for the question of My Bias, My Boss with our torn heroine Kim Hye-joon (A Shop for Killers 2), caught between cute CEO Kang Hoon (Hunter with a Scalpel) and cute Oppa Cha Woo-min (Spirit Fingers).
