Luke Wilson is dishing on the upcoming The Family Stone sequel!
The 54-year-old actor starred in the 2005 Christmas dramedy as Ben Stone, alongside a star-studded cast including the late Diane Keaton as his mom, Sybil, Rachel McAdams, Dermot Mulroney, Claire Danes, Sarah Jessica Parker, and more.
In a new interview promoting his new Netflix show, The Hawk, Luke revealed he’s read the script for The Family Stone sequel and teased that it’s “really funny.”
“I can’t believe it’s happening, but it is,” Luke shared with Entertainment Tonight. “It’s one of those movies where, when it came out, you know, it’s just one of those things when, over the years, more people mentioned it to me, and then families would say, ‘We watch it at Christmas,’ or ‘We watch it at Thanksgiving.’ It really caught me by surprise.”
“Tom Bezucha is a great writer and a great director, and I read the script, and it’s really funny, and it’s so nice that everybody wants to work together again,” he added. “And I think, you know, after the death of Diane Keaton, it’ll be even more meaningful because she was so great to be around on the first one.”
If you missed it, one of Luke‘s co-stars confirmed the sequel is happening and shared more details about the upcoming project.
Luke also recently welcomed his first child and about his newborn at The Hawk premiere.
