Madonna is opening up.
The 67-year-old “Hung Up” singer recently spoke with Graham Norton, and Kylie Minogue, as she chatted about an array of topics as she promoted her upcoming new album Confessions II.
During their chat, they talked about Madonna memorably wearing a T-shirt with the 58-year-old “Padam Padam” singer’s name written on it in rhinestones at the 2000 MTV Europe Music Awards.
“I was in my Western mode, rhinestoning everything, and I was trying to think of singers that I’m slightly in love with,” Madonna recalled. “And so naturally I thought of Kylie and had a T-shirt made of her.”
Kylie then recalled her original response to Madonna‘s shirt.
“[There was] no warning,” she said. “I don’t know what I did, probably just stopped shy of fainting. It was amazing”
Madonna then told Kylie, “I was actually a little bit jealous of you.”
When asked why, Madonna said, “‘Cause she was so cute. I think my ex-husband at the time had a crush on her. I was like, ‘I’ll never be as beautiful as Kylie!’”
