What we’re watching (June 13, 2026)

The Legend of Kitchen Soldier (Episode 9-10) – Mood: C
As feared, the show inevitably takes a turn towards military corruption as it heads into its finale and while we still manage to get some nice moments, the plot now gets driven by things like outpost closure and food battles, which feels less exciting as the ML’s continued journey towards a master chef. I wish we saw someone else who was also playing the same game as ML!

Reborn Rookie (Episode 3-4) – Mood: D
It’s quite the rookie mistake to be that careless especially when the ML has literally witnessed the twins trying to murder him previously: there was 0 reason he needed to be chasing old thrills when he’s trying to infiltrate the enemy camp. At this rate, the ML’s going to get caught, which ironically fits in with the narrative pacing as next week marks the ending of the first half.

My Royal Nemesis (Episode 9-10) – Mood: D
White Truck of Doom?! And one that is utilised in a manner that is tragically boring and uninteresting? That’s a no from me! I don’t understand why the ML still believes the 2ML won’t try to kill him after the latter literally tried to drug him previously. In the preview, we have the FL returning to the past, though I wonder in what form since she’s supposed to be dead back then?

Doctor on the Edge (Episode 3-4) – Mood: D
This is such a pointless cliffhanger unless you’re going to kill the protagonist with 2/3 of the show left, so why even have it? I don’t like how the writer used a one night stand to force the side couple forward instead of actually developing the romance. And the background politics are going to be really annoying: how is the love triangle + double OTP trauma not enough story?
