
Hannah Waddingham and Octavia Spencer are joining forces in the new Prime Video series Ride or Die!
The Emmy-winning Ted Lasso actress and Oscar-winning The Help star play longtime best friends whose lives are turned upside down by a dangerous secret. In addition to leading the cast, both actresses serve as executive producers.
All eight episodes are now available, so we’ve assembled everything viewers need to know about the show, including where to watch it and where they might recognize the cast.

Where can you watch Ride or Die?
Ride or Die is streaming exclusively on Prime Video. The complete first season was released on Wednesday, July 15, rather than following a weekly release schedule.

What is Ride or Die about?
The action-adventure comedy follows lifelong best friends Debbie Claybourne and Judith Burton.
Debbie believes she knows everything about Judith, until she discovers her best friend is secretly an international assassin. After someone from Judith’s past resurfaces and a mission goes badly, both women are forced to flee from multiple dangerous parties.
The series was created by Tessa Coates and blends action, comedy, and a story about the complicated bond between its central characters. It has been praised for providing a fresh new take on the typical “buddy comedy.”

Hannah Waddingham plays Judith Barton
Hannah played Judith, the seemingly ordinary best friend who has secretly built a career as a highly trained international assassin.
Viewers will immediately recognize Hannah as Rebecca Welton from Ted Lasso, the role that earned her an Emmy Award. Her other credits include Game of Thrones, Sex Education, Mission Impossible – The Final Reckoning, and Hocus Pocus 2.
She recently attended a London screening with her boyfriend Nick Beresford-Cleary.

Octavia Spencer plays Debbie Claybourne
Octavia stars as Debbie, whose relatively normal life is destroyed when she learns the truth about Judith.
The actress won an Academy Award for her performance in The Help and received additional nominations for Hidden Figures and The Shape of Water. She also starred in the Divergent films, Fruitvale Station, Ma, Self Made, Spirited, among many others.

Bill Nighy plays the Director
Bill Nighy plays the mysterious Director, an imposing figure connected to Judith’s secret profession.
Bill‘s filmography includes Love Actually, the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, Notes on a Scandal, Shaun of the Dead, The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, and About Time. He also received an Oscar nomination for his performance in the 2022 movie Living.

Ed Skrein played Billy Donovan
Ed Skrein portrays Billy Donovan, one of the characters caught up in Debbie and Judith’s increasingly dangerous journey.
Ed is known for playing Ajax in Deadpool and starring in The Transporter Refueled and the Rebel Moon movies. He will also play Baldur in Prime Video’s upcoming God of War adaptation. Read more about his God of War role here.

Sylvia Hoeks plays Ana
Sylvia Hoeks stars as Ana, a woman from Judith’s past who plays a central part in the danger surrounding the two friends.
The Dutch actress is best known for playing Luv in Blade Runner 2049. She also portrayed Queen Kane in Apple TV+ series See and appeared in The Girl in the Spider’s Web.

Many of the cast members joined Hannah and Octavia for the show’s New York City premiere.
Will Ride or Die return for season 2?
At the time of writing this article, Prime Video has not announced whether Ride or Die will return for a second season.
With this show getting a binge drop and all eight episodes out at once, the streamer will likely evaluate viewership and completion data over the next few weeks before making a decision.
