Vicki Gunvalson found herself caught in the middle of Tamra Judge and Shannon Beador‘s ongoing feud.
While discussing the new season of Real Housewives of Orange County, the 64-year-old reality star admitted that she did not approve of how Tamra treated Shannon, despite remaining firmly in her longtime friend’s corner.
“I love Tamra and I just didn’t like the way she was treating Shannon,” Vicki told Page Six’s Virtual Reali-Tea. “When you’re friends with both of them, like, why are you being so mean?”
Their fractured friendship recently reached another low during a filmed confrontation at The Quiet Woman in Newport Beach for the upcoming Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip. During the heated exchange, Tamra reportedly told Shannon she would never own a home or find a lasting love, something that was discussed in the season 20 premiere episode.
Vicki said she attempted to serve as a mediator as the drama unfolded.
“You’ll see this season, I did my very best to just kind of be the intermediator, but also say, ‘We gotta stop this!’” she explained. “In the real picture of the world, what are you guys fighting about?”
Despite criticizing Tamra‘s behavior, Vicki believes audiences will see a more vulnerable side of her this season.
“I know Shannon wasn’t wanting to apologize because she didn’t feel like she did anything wrong,” she said. “Tamra did really show some softness of herself this season — which I loved — because Tamra is a quality person.”
Vicki finally reclaimed her orange ahead of the show’s milestone 20th season after making limited “friend of” appearances in recent years. She said being more involved has allowed her to better understand the tensions dividing the cast.
