Stella Lefty is one of the biggest rising stars in the music world right now and there’s a lot of chatter about her being a “nepo baby.”

The 23-year-old singer-songwriter has gone viral for her hit song “Boston,” which is climbing the charts on the Billboard Hot 100 and is expected to reach #3 by next week.

In an interview with Rolling Stone, Stella explained that she started writing the song while waiting for her boyfriend, musician Vincent Mason, to pick her up for a date early on in their relationship.

“I thought, ‘I’ll just sit at the piano and see what happens,’” Stella said. “It did so well that I was honestly confused, because I didn’t really love the song yet. Then I was like, ‘I guess I need to finish it!’”

“I love country music more than anything,” she added. “It’s just what I love with my f–king heart and soul. But I’m not Southern. I always worried, ‘Do I have to be?’”

So, who is Stella‘s dad?

Stella Lefty’s dad is billionaire businessman Eric Lefkofsky

Stella is the daughter of businessman Eric Lefkofsky, who made the bulk of his money from being a co-founder of Groupon. Her mother is Elizabeth Kramer.

As of July 24, 2026, Forbes lists his net worth at $4.7 billion, putting him at #852 on the list of the world’s richest people.

Currently, Eric is the founder and CEO of Tempus AI, which uses AI-driven insights to personalize healthcare and accelerate drug development.

Stella Lefty credits her dad with introducing her to music

Stella says her dad is a huge music fan.

“I’m very, very close with my family. My dad in particular was the first intro to music that I ever had because country radio was blasting in the car no matter where we were going,” she told The Line of Best Fit. “He’s the biggest Swiftie! So I feel like he just had a huge impact on what I grew up loving. When I was going through my first ever breakup, we sat in the car for hours and just listened to Brad Paisley, Tim McGraw and all these things that just formed the way that I view relationships now, the way that I view everything now. So I love talking about him. He’s my favorite person on the planet.”

She said in the same interview, “Obviously there’s going to be all the negative things that are said online and there’s going to be all these opinions that are thrown around and I totally understand that. But I think for me and my individual relationship with him, even if he was not in business at all, I would bring him up all the time. That’s our relationship. He’s my musical everything.”

Stella Lefty’s manager denies she’s an “industry plant”

Because of Stella coming from a wealthy family, she has been accused of being an “industry plant.” Essentially, internet trolls use this term for an artist they feel is being pushed on the public.

Stella‘s manager Adam Alpert told Rolling Stone, “Industry plants don’t exist, no matter what anybody says or thinks from the outside of the music business.”

“You have to make great songs that people like,” he added. “All these artists that people call ‘industry plants’ are having success because they’ve done just that.”

Stella Lefty has a famous boyfriend

Stella is dating singer-songwriter Vincent Mason.

Vincent is best known for his song “Damned If I Do” and his biggest hit on the Hot 100 right now is his duet with Stella, “Something to Lose.” The song is featured on his EP, Is This Heaven?, which was released back in May.

They sing, “Oh, I was a wild horse built for runnin’ / Didn’t see those blue eyes comin’ / This was never supposed to be nothin’ but a little somethin’ to do / I got good at bein’ lonely ’til you showed me I was better with you / Now I got somethin’ to lose.”
